Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Spaid’s class had a beach party to celebrate the end of a wonderful year! They concluded their day with an ice cream celebration where they also received certificates and their portfolios. It was a great year, and we hope everyone has a wonderful summer!
This week our theme was Farm! The preschoolers enjoyed dressing like farmers. On Thursday morning, we had some very special visitors. The children got to see and pet two chickens and a calf. They learned what they ate and what they would produce on the farm. They also got to see the difference between hay and straw. A very special thank you to Erica and Nathan for taking the time to bring in some their farm animals. The children thoroughly enjoyed it!

The three year-old class had a wonderful time on their field trip to Pisanello’s! They learned how pizza is made, and then they enjoyed eating it!! A BIG thank you to Pisanello’s for having us again this year!
Thank you to all of the families who helped with our field trip to the Bucyrus Community Hospital. We also thank Miss Amanda, Miss Carmon and the rest of the staff at the hospital. Our tour was fantastic! We loved our snack and hospital gifts!

Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Spaid’s class welcomed the preschooler’s grandparents into the classroom. The grandparents got to experience what their grandchildren do while they are at preschool each day. It is always a special day when the grandparents come to visit!
Thank you to all who supported the preschool at our Pizza Hut Fundraiser. We raised $445.50 and collected donations of $55.00 for a grand total of $500.50!
Mrs. Spayde’s students loved Grandparents’ Day! They sang a few songs for their guests and then enjoyed play with them in learning centers. Thank you grandparents!
Last week the three year-old class read several versions of the Gingerbread Man. On Thursday, the children had an opportunity to bake their own gingerbread man. The preschoolers loved getting to mix the dough. When the class went to get the cookie out of the oven, the gingerbread man had escaped and left clues throughout the school to help the class find him!! The preschoolers had to visit the chapel, office, and four year-old class before finally finding the cookie in their classroom!
Both of our morning classes are full! We only have a few openings in our afternoon, 3-5 year-old combination class. If you or someone you know is interested in our 2019-2020 preschool, please turn in a registration form and non-refundable fee of $50.00. This will secure a spot for your child. Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Spaid’s class is learning about transportation this week at preschool. Today we had a special visit from a student’s dad, Mr. Slagle, who works for the State Garage. He brought his dump truck to show the students. The four year-old class joined us for this special visit. He told the students the different things they used the truck for as well as a tour of the truck. They were so excited to see his truck, and hear all about it! In the classroom, the preschoolers are learning about different forms of transportation. They are also learning about a traffic light and what each color on the light tells us to do. They are having fun playing “Where is red light, where is yellow light and where is green light.”
A big thank you to Mr. Slagle, for bringing his dump truck and teaching the morning classes about how it works!
Mrs.Sand visited the preschoolers and introduced them to Freddy the Fish. The students participated in a talk about water pollution. Thank you, Mrs. Sand!
Mrs. Spayde’s students caught 2 leprechauns. Each leprechaun left coins and yummy chocolate candy. Check out our leprechaun traps!
Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Spaid’s class had a special “green day” to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day! The preschoolers wore green, played a lot of special games, and had fun dressing up in the house center!
The three year-old class had so much fun reciting nursery rhymes last week. They got to use their cutting, painting, and gluing skills to make items that went along with three different nursery rhymes. Their favorite part was using the items they made to recite the rhymes!!
Thank you to Mrs. Sand for teaching us about mammals found in Crawford county. We also thank Mrs. Luidhardt for teaching us about bower birds and their cool nests.
